We’ve had a great few days of rehearsal with this tremendous cast, continuing to dig into Matthew Goldstein’s funny and heartfelt new play, PURGATORIUM. Everyone is looking forward to our two presentations at Pearl Studios (519): tomorrow at 7:30pm and Friday at 2:00pm. About the play:
So a rabbi, a priest, and a dysfunctional family walk into a funeral… That’s not the set-up to a joke—it's Leah Kagan's actual, miserable life. And when her conspiracy theorist uncle, Insta-hippy cousin, acid-tongued mother and grandmother (and yes, the rabbi and priest) turn her father’s funeral into a door-slamming, barb-trading, David Copperfield-hunting shanda, Leah has to face the fact that with her family, resting in peace isn’t an option. This razor-sharp new comedy proves you're never too old, too young, or too bitter to make a change.

Join Joe, a well-meaning tour guide at the Honorable Herbert Peabody Library and Legacy Center, as he struggles to reconcile his Peabody’s honorable past with the increasingly disappointing present, and must decide whether he's going to ignore history, change history, or make history to ensure that his hero's #MeToo moment doesn't become "Me, Three."
