And when I say “edit suite” I mean “zoom room.” But Editor Kevin Horkaew and I are making great progress! They say a movie is written three times: once by the screenwriter, once by the director, then in the editing room. First Look at SEPTEMBER!
I’m beyond thrilled to share these still from September, featuring Frankie J. Álvarez and Gustavo Márquez! Director of Photography is the fabulous Easton Carter Angle. Edit and color grading are still to come, but with raw images like this, we’re all feeling pretty good!
New Article on Self-Producing (or Not) for The Playwrights Realm
As Content Producer for The Playwrights Realm’s Aspiring Playwrights Program I’m always asking myself “what do I wish I’d known when I was starting out…?” This article is one of those things!
The irony of the piece is not lost on me. Like so many young directors and writers wanting to make work, I frequently took the DIY approach (still do, TBH…but I’m startegic about it now!). That’s how I discovered my talent for producing. But it was, and still is, tough! I hope this article helps young artists with that same spirit and drive think through the ramifications, and other possibilities, when it comes to trying to put up your own work.
New Playwrights Realm Article
Even for folks who make theatre, the who’s-who and who-does-what of a professional theatre company can be a bit of a mystery. Having held a range of positions at a range of companies, I hope this article gives folks a bit more understanding about the various positions involved in making the work audiences see on stage.
This piece was written for The Realm’s Aspiring Playwrights program, which aims to provide resources for those in the very earliest stages of their writing careers (regardless of age), without access or inroads to professional peers or industry leaders.
