For the 2nd year in a row, I’ve had a script place in Austin Film Festival’s screenplay competition! My original pilot, Zone of Silence, was named a ‘2nd Rounder,’ landing it in the top 20% of 10,000+ script submitted this year.
About Zone of Silence:
A devout Mormon father’s violent visions of an ancestral colony in Mexico reawaken his repressed sexuality and unearth supernatural forces that threaten his family’s very existence.
I dipped into my past life as a graphic designer (srsly) to create the poster for September! Featuring Frankie J. Alvarez, as shot so beautifully by DP Easton Carter Angle!

And when I say “edit suite” I mean “zoom room.” But Editor Kevin Horkaew and I are making great progress! They say a movie is written three times: once by the screenwriter, once by the director, then in the editing room. It’s true, and I couldn’t ask for a better collaborator on this final draft of of my script/direction!
I’m beyond thrilled to share these still from September, featuring Frankie J. Álvarez and Gustavo Márquez! Director of Photography is the fabulous Easton Carter Angle. Edit and color grading are still to come, but with raw images like this, we’re all feeling pretty good!
